My 10 Things for Summer Vacation!

I am so excited to join Mrs. Jump's Class linky, Ten Things I want to do THIS Summer! So here is my list in no particular order!

1. READ!!!
I have tons of books on my list of things to read this summer and keep looking for more! Please feel free to share what you are reading or have read that you would recommend. I read ANYTHING!

2. DESIGN / CREATE
I have been slowing re-decorating my home and have plans to finish putting in wood floors so that there is NO MORE CARPET in my house! My poor office/craft room is now the "yard sale room". It is full of this and that and I keep saying I am going to have a yard sale. What I really may do is just have a trip to the Salvation Army or Goodwill and be done. I am ready to get back in there and (try to) sew, get crafty with my Silhouette Cameo, and paint. My creative side is feeling a little blocked by all this clutter!

I also want to redesign my blog. I want to try and do it all on my own - fingers crossed! Any tips and tricks??? And if all else fails, any referrals to blog designers? :)

3. BLOG
See above! **Update** As you may have noticed, I have changed the look of my blog. I am so proud to say that I have created this look with a lot of help from Ashton at Something Swanky, PicMonkey, and Lettering Delights! I am still learning and changing but am so excited of what I have done so far!
I want to continue to blog and grow as a blogger. Again, any and all tips appreciated!!

4. NETFLIX / DVR
Summer is the time I like to watch shows I have never watched before. I admit, I am a Netflix bindger. I love to watch multiple episodes in one sitting. I also have some shows still sitting in my DVR because life just got too busy during the year and now I can sit and watch them all at once. Suggestions are always welcome!

5. BEACH

I live in (almost) paradise - about 45 minutes away to be exact! I love the beach. I love the ocean. I love to sit on the beach with my toes in the sand reading a book! I plan to allow plenty of time to do this with friends and family or alone. The salt air is calling my name!

6. FAMILY
I have two of the most beautiful nieces in the world!! Kylie and Kinsley, Blondy and Red around here, are my heart!
Blondy (upcoming 2nd grader) and Red (don't miss the frog dress) at Red's PreK Graduation!
It was an hour and a half long program - plenty of time for Aunt Melissa to have to braid Kylie's hair. Can you tell Red is OVER IT!
I am so proud of these two smart, sweet and beautiful girls. I hope to have them come stay with me so we can go play at the beach and do a lot of snuggling!!!

7. TPT

I want to work on adding product to my Teachers Pay Teachers store. Not necessarily to make more money (although I wouldn't complain) but because I love giving my kids personalized pages with frogs on them. They think it is hilarious when I can find frog clipart to match our units! Since I think there can never be enough frog themed items, I want to share them with my fellow educators.

8. RENOVATE
We are in the planning stages of adding a game room and swimming pool to our house and I cannot wait to get started!

9. ORGANIZE
My house, my classroom, my life! (refer back to #2!)

10. LEARN
I am a life long learner. I love to learn new things. I am excited to spend two weeks at AMSTI this year to complete my 2nd year of Math and Science training. I will also be attending a two day technology conference here in our county. I cannot wait to soak up all that knowledge!

As I finish this blog, I am starting my first "official" day of summer. I felt a little lost this morning not getting up and getting dressed so that I could get to school. After reading back through this list though, I am reminded of all these things and know I will have a full summer!

What are ten things you want to do this summer? Link up with Mrs. Jump's Class or comment below and share! Again - any suggestions on any items listed below are welcome - seriously!

  1. Sounds like you're going to be really busy this summer. Good luck with all those home projects! I read The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion recently and really enjoyed it.
