SUMMER VACATION HAS BEGUN!!!!
I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share one last week of adventures!

Pirate Adventure Days (Day 3!)
Here are our finished pirates!!!
I think they turned out way too cute!!!

Beach Day
Monday was Beach Day! We dressed in our beach-y shirts, wore leis, and sang beach songs. We even made a beach inspired snack!
End of the Year Program

This year the name of our program was "When I Grow Up"! I have done quite a few different programs over the last 10 years but I must say that this is my favorite!!!! It talks about how each person is free to be themselves and can be whatever they want to be when they grow up!

after the program, we went back to my classroom for a Donut reception and watched the iMovie I made from all of our class pictures and some videos. Lots of smile, giggles, and maybe even a few tears.

Park Day
I love this day. This is such a peaceful fun filled day. We left school at 9:00 Tuesday morning and walked to the park and stayed all day! We had a picnic lunch and lots of water and snacks. I didn't even take a picture we were too busy playing and relaxing in the amazing sunshine!

Bubble Day and Last Day of School
Today is the last day of school and to celebrate we had Bubble Day!!! We played with all kinds of bubbles - including cleaning bubbles!!! Are chairs and tables have been scrubbed and we are all covered in bubble soap and headed home for the summer!
I hope you all have/had a wonderful last day of school.

How much longer until you are on your last Friday?

Five For Friday

Only one more week left of school. Wow that sentence sounds crazy! I am so excited to start summer vacation but also sad to see my kiddos move on. We have had a great year and have one more fabulous week planned. I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share the MANY adventures we have had this week!

**Update** I just found this FABULOUS new linky from Emily at Style Closet to Classroom and since my first two Five for Fridays are about two very FABULOUS things, I am joining up! It is called Friday Fabulist! Post about anything fabulous you want to share!
One of my favorites ways to treat myself is with a Birchbox subscription. This is the my 9th Birchbox and I LOVE them. If you are not familiar with Birchbox.com you should be!
Just go to Birchbox.com and fill out a profile. For $10 a month you get a box with five or six samples of deluxe beauty and lifestyle products (there is a box for men too)! This is great for yourself and a great gift! In fact, I gave my sisterinlaw a 3 month subscription for Christmas. So for three months she got a present. I love getting a cute box full of treats!!

And because you can't pamper yourself too much I also subscribe to Ipsy, just like Birchbox, you go online, fill out a profile and for $10 a month you get  5-6 samples in a VERY cute bag. Here is this months bag and samples! Not only are the sample great but the different bags each month are fabulous!

Now that I have fully pampered myself this month, let's talk about Kindergarten!
Camping Day
A huge thanks to my fabulous hubby for helping me set up  setting up and taking down the tent in my classroom to kickstart our summer fun unit. The kids had a blast taking turns in the tent reading!
We colored and cut out tents to make a picture graph.
Would you like to camp in a tent?
We decorated tents for our pictures!
Then we made S'mores!!!! YUM!
We graphed our favorite part of the s'more.

At the end of the day, we made these adorable paper s'mores and we chose if we would  "want s'more" s'mores!

**All the fabulous clip art I used is from the collection "Love Me Tinder" from Lettering Delights.**
Click on the link below to check them out.

Picnic Day

We talked about ants, voted on our favorite picnic food (hamburgers or hotdogs), made a paper picnic, made buggy visors, and ate ants on a log! This is a day that as a grade level we are working on to add more to it. If you have any ideas, I would love to know about them!

Pirate Adventure Days
So much fun we had to spread it over two three days!
After reading about pirates, we made puppets and a booklet (this is a great review of color words since they have to read each page and color the parts of the pirate a certain color). I have had these two projects forever and have no idea where they came from!

We have read so many good Pirate books the past few days.
Our favorites have been The Night Pirates & Pirates Love Underpants!

We are still in the middle of making these super cute pirates from Deanna Jump's Pirate Math and Literacy pack!

I will post our finish products next week!

Our essential question for our Pirate Adventure Days was: Why do pirates wear patches?
I had all the kids write what they thought and then we  "googled" the answer. I must say I was very impressed with the kids' thoughts and one was very close to the actual answer!

**In case you were wondering, they wore them so they could quickly see below deck after being out in the sun!**
Another on of our favorite books was, Pirates Don't Change Diapers!
There is a great resource pack {here}!
Here is some of our writing from the pack..."What Treasure Would You Want to Find?"

"I have gold coins and necklaces."
"Chocolate gold is my favorite gold"
"Money - I want money because it makes me rich. And because I can give it away." - this from my child wanting to be Mayor when he grows up!
"I hope gems and gold are in my chest."
"I would want gold."

Look for Pirate Adventure Day 3 next week.

For now I am off to get ready for Field Day at our school!

I hope you are all having a wonderful last few days or weeks of school. What do you do fun to help keep your super excited kiddos' attention this close to summer break?

Five for Friday - a day late!

I am joining one of my favorite linky parties a day late! Thank you to Doodle Bugs Teaching for hosting this each week!

This week we have been working like crazy getting our Mother's Day projects complete! We made cards, hand prints, and flowers from cup cake liners. Unfortunately I completely forgot to take pictures!
Happy Mother's Day to my mom and all of you!
As part of our end of the year festivities we have a unit called Summer Fun. We have different themes each day. The past few weeks, I have been taking pictures and getting craft and snack supplies ready. It all begins Monday!
Our end of the year program is just a little over a week away. My Kinders, along with two other classes have been hard at work practicing our songs! We will be performing "When I Grow Up" on Wednesday, May 21st (10:00). The kids are doing an amazing job learning the songs. I could not be more proud!

When We Grow Up:
Thanks to Pinterest, my across the hall neighbor Mrs. Butler, and piZap.com this turned out soooo cute!

I was happily surprised yesterday when two of my students from last year won a prize for their writing. They both had to come and show me their beautiful roses! Proud teacher moment!!!!

Only two more weeks of school - what!! This has been a great year. I am going to miss all my sweet kiddos so much. I am looking forward to seeing them as big first graders.

Happy Friday Saturday!
