Kindergarten Assessments - No Longer the Worst Part of my Day!

Whew! Done with report cards for the final time this year.  In the past, report card testing is usually the most dreaded part of my teaching experience, but not this year!
This year a teacher from another school in our county introduced me to ESGI!
ESGI is an online software company that has changed the way I will forever do assessments and I am so excited to be sharing it with you!

Here are a few things that I LOVE about ESGI:

1.   You can load your own assessments or use some of the system assessments. That wonderful teacher that I was telling you about took our county wide Kindergarten assessments and loaded them into ESGI and shared them with all of the county Kindergarten teachers. PLUS three fabulous bloggers, HeidiSongs, Smart Kids, and Mrs. Wills’ Kindergarten, have created CCSS aligned assessments and made them available to all ESGI members!

2. ESGI Reports and Charts!
There is an “Untested Student Report”: This reports helps keep me on track.  I can quickly see who I need to assess.
There is a “Class Totals Report” that I can download and/or print to help inputting grades a snap!
Then there are the bar graphs. I think this might be the most valuable tool on the site. You can look at these bar graphs of your assessments and see exactly how you class is doing on each skill. I used this a lot this year with teaching and reviewing sight words. I can look at the graph and it shows me exactly what sight words my class is struggling to learn or which ones they all know!

3.   Parent Communication!
This might just be my favorite part of ESGI!
After testing, you can quickly print a parent letter.  There is a default letter for you to use but have no fear you can edit the text!

You can also print flash cards specific to that student. This has been a great help for work at home, but also for small group/intervention instruction – why reinvent the wheel??!!

4.   2 Month FREE trial
They have great videos that will walk you through the program!

New ESGI teachers can get started for only $159.00, rather than the regular price of $199.00.  Use this promo code: B3114.

Even though Kindergarten assessment is still one on one, ESGI has really made it a lot faster and a lot easier to organize!
